Slow Sundays: Renzo’s bar
Sunday 18 July 2010, 11:00 AM
By The Team | Posted in PlacesWondering what to do today? Here’s a suggestion: wander down to Docklands for some of the best pizza west of the river and take advantage of the Slow Sundays $15 meal deal.

Renzo’s bar, one of first restaurants to open in Docklands, is popular with both locals and visitors for its thin and crispy homemade pizzas and fine traditional Italian fare.
The Slow Sundays menu provides a choice of one of their famous pizzas topped with Italian sausage, goat cheese and roasted capsicum, house-made ravioli filled with prawns and salmon served on a bed of baby spinach or veal spezzatino, slow-cooked veal served with potatoes, peas and carrots.
Enjoy with a glass of house chardonnay or shiraz – and if you’re still not ready to face that fast-moving world outside, try one of Renzo’s heavenly desserts.

Slow Sundays: Steakhouse
Friday 9 July 2010, 4:11 PM
By The Team | Posted in PlacesYippee it’s Friday and its time to start planning for the weekend. Does the idea of Sunday lunch for a mere $15 with a matched wine or beer tempt you? Slow down this Sunday at the Steakhouse for their award-winning prime steaks.

This meat lovers paradise serves quality cuts of Australian beef, including wagyu and Black Angus, which has been aged for at least a month. As a part of Slow Sundays, choose between their juicy Angus beef rissoles with sweet slow-roasted peppers, melted cheese and rocket or their flame-grilled minute steak with toasted ciabatta, caramelised onions and Dijon mustard dressing.
Both dishes go well with a glass of 2008 Domaine Chandon Pinot Noir, Yarra Valley or a Pure Blonde beer.
Steakhouse, 66 Newquay Promenade, Docklands

Slows Sundays: Bluefire Churrascuria
Sunday 4 July 2010, 3:24 PM
By The Team | Posted in PlacesSundays are made for taking it slow: a leisurely sleep-in, snuggling up to the one beside you, reading the weekend papers, coffee at your favourite pit stop and until 29 August, Slow Sundays at Docklands. This week we check out the fabulous flame-grilled Brazilian menu at Bluefire Churrascuria, one of the 20 participating restaurants in Slow Sundays.

Eating at Bluefire Churrascuria will help with the immersion therapy, where waiters with huge skewers of grilled meats will come to your table like they do in Brazil and carve the meat to your hearts (and bellies) content.
During Slow Sundays choose either the churrascaria tasting plate of Brazilian-style marinated chicken, spiced calamari and hot chorizo sausage with tomato relish or a large beef empanada served on a zingy pineapple and sweet corn salsa.
Delicious with a glass of the 2008 Crittenden Estate ‘Cut Cain’ Cabernet from the Mornington Peninsula or a Crown Lager beer and all for $15.
